  • Filing with Companies House (limited companies)
  • Filing corporation tax return CT600 with HMRC
  • Preparation of director’s report & balance sheet

How we prepare your year-end accounts

A clear, four-step process with you kept informed at every stage. No surprises, no chasing, no stress.

1

Reminder & Records Request

We send you a reminder well ahead of your year-end and request your records. We tell you exactly what we need — no guesswork on your part.

2

Preparation & Review

Your dedicated accountant prepares the accounts and puts them through our in-house review process to check for accuracy and tax efficiency.

3

Your Approval

We send the draft accounts to you for review and approval. Nothing is filed until you’ve seen it and signed it off.

4

Submission & Confirmation

We file with Companies House and HMRC and send you confirmation once done. We keep copies of everything on file for you.

Deadlines you must not miss

Missing a filing deadline triggers automatic penalties from HMRC and Companies House. We track every deadline for every client so nothing slips.

Limited Company Accounts

Statutory accounts must be filed with Companies House within 9 months of your accounting reference date. New companies have 21 months from incorporation for their first accounts.

9 months after year-end

Corporation Tax Return (CT600)

Your corporation tax return must be filed with HMRC within 12 months of your accounting period end. Corporation tax itself is due within 9 months and one day.

12 months after year-end

Sole Trader Accounts

Sole trader accounts form the basis of your self-assessment return, which is due by 31 January each year for the previous tax year. We ensure your accounts are ready well before this date.

31 January each year

Don’t risk an HMRC penalty. Late filing penalties start at £150 for one day late and escalate quickly. Companies House can also strike off your company for persistent late filing. We take ownership of your deadlines so you never have to worry.

The cost of missing your deadline

HMRC and Companies House impose automatic penalties for late filing — and they escalate quickly. The table below shows what you’re exposed to if accounts are not filed on time.

How late Penalty
Up to 1 month late£150
1 to 3 months late£375
3 to 6 months late£750
More than 6 months late£1,500
Second consecutive year lateDoubled

Penalties apply per filing. A late CT600 adds further HMRC surcharges on top of Companies House penalties.

Our on-time filing guarantee

We take complete ownership of your filing deadlines. Here’s how we make sure you never pay a penalty:

  • Deadline calendar set up for every client on day one
  • Reminder sent to you well ahead of your year-end
  • Accounts prepared with time to spare — not last minute
  • Internal review completed before draft sent to you
  • Submission confirmed in writing once filed
  • If we miss a deadline due to our error, we cover the penalty
